This is my biggest and greatest auction that I have ever had. It is my prized and rebuilt and customized bicycle that was originally purchased in 1995 in Verona, Italy.
The original paint job has never seen much of the light of day (see story below*) and has patina'd very nicely and gets TONS OF COMPLIMENTS NO MATTER WHERE I RIDE IT. Highlights are the RARE BLACK practically NOS 3T (very very rare INCLUDING THE BOLT COVER WITH THE RED DOT--EXTREMELY COOL AND RARE) and custom black red and off white cable housings. Notice the rear break cable goes through the top tube, making it easy to carry over your shoulder. I love the tape but thats the only thing I would think that you need to replace. The Gatorskins are ridable, the one is about 30% worn and the other about 70% (I am including one brand new Gator).
Aside from what I consider one of G. Chesini's best ever original paint jobs, I have built this for speed and looks and functionality. Paired with a Bontrager Race X Lite front wheel (dead true) and TWO REAR MAVIC R SYS (LIGHTEST REAR CLINCHER PRETTY MUCH OUT THERE) and a Dura Ace rear derailleur, Campagnolo Record brakes (avoids having any brake releases, yes you have to deflate your tire to get it off but dont worry I am including my Topeak Micro Rocket carbon, the best and lightest bike pump ever made. My personal one, had it over 10 years, works great).  I dont like the look or possibility of catching something on a brake release (it has happened to me plenty of times). Sleek, light, rides like a race bike, originally built with specs of Tour bikes of the time (they were still riding comparable frames at the time this was built), and if you don't immediately gain a ton of attention than you must not be on earth.
San Marco saddle is a Ferrari Suspensioni and I am including my scuffed daily rider I used and a brand new one I got and have never ridden (just the "show piece seat"). If you are not familiar I have (both) the "T" FOR TITANIUM MODEL WHICH ARE SUB 200 GRAMS. IMO the most comfortable seat ever made. They use the same material as the Ferraris use for the engine mounts and give you a bit of "suspension" when you ride over tracks or bumps.
Zipp Titanium skewers are included and I will include an extra set of Mavic (R Sys) skewers as well with BIN. 38mm 3T drop bars (as well as 38mm cyclocross drop bars)

The entire story of this bike is as follows:
My former band mate received it as a gift from his professor who bought it in Italy on a trip in the mid 90's. He had it custom built and was around 5'10.
The  bike was spray painted black (very poorly with very cheap paint).  He wrecked it and threw it in the closet where it sat for years.
I got it from him bc he "did not know how to fix it" and I immediately put 40 hours of work into restoring the frame's original paint (I used 100% acetone nail polish remover and then cleaned with lemon pledge to neutralize it).  I wanted to put a rack on it and the drive side rear dropout was bent so I had a Campy dropout (with an eyelet) welded in place (the work was done at Hamilton Machine shop here in Nashville with the proper weld).  Ride was exactly the same. I did not however change the other dropout and instead left it as is.
The entire frame is Columbus SL and is chrome under the paint.  There are absolutely guaranteed no rust spots ANYWHERE ON THIS FRAME.  I left some of the remnants of the black paint in the places where I thought it would actually be good to keep to protect the original paint (such as under the bottom bracket where the original paint has started to "come through" as I planned!).
SIZE:
Top tube is a standard 56cm/22 inches
Seat tube is a custom size, slightly shorter, 55.5cm/21.5 inches (57 cm to the top of the seat tube opening)
The chain is a lightly used KMC 9 speed and the bottle cages are both ARUNDEL CARBON, matching, LIGHTEST ONES ON EARTH.
This is a very special bike and the reason I am selling it is that I am going back to professional golf and this is to help fund step one.
